Therapy Overview
Family Therapy

Family therapy provides a platform and opportunities for family members to communicate, listen, and respond in a newfound manner. Families will work together with the therapist to process challenges and create solutions. No matter how long the problems have existed, families can deal with the problems together, and, achieve a healthy, cohesive familial functioning, together.
“In all cultures, the family imprints its members with selfhood. Human experience of identity has two elements; a sense of belonging and a sense of being separate. The laboratory in which these ingredients are mixed and dispensed is the family, the matrix of identity.” -Salvador Minuchin

Individual Therapy

During individual therapy, you will be working 1:1 with a therapist to discuss your strengths, challenges, and construct change to enhance your self-esteem, self-empowerment, and wellbeing. You are the expert about yourself, and you have the ability to attain optimum wellness.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” -Carl Rogers
Couples Therapy

In couples therapy, couples will work together with the therapist to process the unique complications in their relationship to promote a stronger, longer lasting bond. Couples will collaborate with the therapist using an emotionally focused therapy approach to establish a more emotionally safe space and foster a secure attachment with one another.

“To achieve a lasting loving bond, we have to be able to tune in to our deepest needs and longings and translate them into clear signals that help our lovers respond to us. We have to be able to accept love and to reciprocate.” -Sue Johnson
Play Therapy

In play therapy, the child will be working with the therapist to communicate and devise solutions through play. The therapist will provide a child-centered approach to assist the child in working through traumas, difficulties, and relational conflicts to achieve their goals and live well. Parent/guardian sessions will also take place throughout the course of treatment in an effort to provide the child with optimal support and success.

“Toys are children’s words and play is their language.” -Garry Landreth
